Oppo has surpassed all its competitors by a thin margin by introducing its new model R5. With an ultra-thin design and 4.8 thickness, R5 is a treat to watch. It is proudly holding the title of being world’s thinnest smart phone to date. It has a 5.2 inch (capacitive touchscreen) superAMOLED full HD display (1920x1080 pixels) and 16M colors quality. The colors are bright and vivid, and give generally a great quality display. It offers multi-touch and the screen is strengthened with Corning Gorilla Glass 3. It has a sleek and stylish body casing made with ceramic and the metallic edges (Oppo calls them macro arc). These are the cherries on this cake! It comes in three colors, namely, grey, silver and gold and weighs 155g and the dimensions are 148.9x74.5x4.9mm. It has a great resemblance to the iPhone 6 as far as the look and design is concerned. It not only is unbelievably thin and gorgeous looking, but also has some other great features too.

It is powered by QUALCOMM’s snapdragon 615 processor with the speed of 1.5GHz. You get a good performance with four big cores and four low-power cores. The software it runs on is colorOS 2.0 on top of Android 4.4. Oppo has upped the quality of gesture touch in its 2.0. It uses HTML 5 for browsing and sports USB, Bluetooth, GPRS, EDGE, WLAN as other efficient connectivity options.
It has an inbuilt camera with 13MP resolution. It features geo tagging, touch focus, face detection, panorama and HDR. Apart from the 13 MP front camera, it is also equipped with a 5mp front camera which is good enough for your selfies and groupies. As for memory space, there is no card slot and it comes in 16GB inbuilt memory and a 32GB RAM. As there is no additional or expandable memory you will have to be very stingy with what you store in order to maintain and manage your storage space. It sports a non- removable Li-Po 2000 mAh battery. It generally gives a good life to the phone but if you are heavy user this might be a little less for you. However, its fast charging speed will make up for it. Oppo R5 has a very efficient charging time and ensures up to 75 % completion in just 30 minutes.
The only negative point is the camera sticking out of the phone. The super thin phone is not able to fully accommodate a 13MP camera inside it and the camera bumps out at the back. This makes the phone a little unstable while lying flat on a surface, like the iPhone 6.
R5 gives you a premium feel through its beautiful aluminum frame and dimensions. It is coupled with some great features. The price of R5 is expected to come soon and be around the bracket of 35-45k (This is based on the price review quoted by local shop owners). Oppo has proved time and again that it produces some great designs and good features together in one phone.
