Nokia 701 is a beautiful smartphone from Nokia. It is possibly the last phone from Nokia as a Symbian phone. They are speculated to drop the name Symbian and use Nokia belle instead. It is also been speculated that after 2012 Nokia will completely shift on Microsoft windows operating systems. This phone has decent specifications for a Nokia smartphone. Its screen is neither scratch resistance not it has got any gorilla glass protection. Other than that it has a 3.2 inches screen. The will surely have a lots of scratches after some time if not protected well. This is for me a big drawback for a touch phone not to have these features.
Display quality is good. It is one of the world’s best displays with a brightness quality of 1000 nits. It has a front facing camera and the ear phone at the friend. The ear phone is pretty loud which is good. At the bottom of the screen we have two buttons. This portion is made of plastic. Other than that we have a mettle strip all around Nokia 701 which looks cool.
At the right side we have a traditional Nokia style spring lock button which is used to lock or unlock the phone. At the bottom corner of right hand side we have a dedicated camera button which is easy to use and operate. At the top we have got volume rockers which are always wonderful to have while listening to music.
On the top there is a microUSB charging slot which is quite hard to reach because of its hard rubber lid. Beside it there is a headphone jack and a dedicated on and off button as well.
At the back is has a durable stainless steel back plate which is similar to E-series back plates. One of the features which I like is that you do not need to remove the battery before changing the SIM card.
A really nice 8 mega pixels camera with dual LED flash is there to give you amazing quality pictures and videos. The low point of this camera is that it’s a fixed focused camera and we cannot expect something beyond a particular limit from this camera.
