The reason people switch from one smart phone to another is that they want to try something new every now and then. Similarly, mobile phone companies also venture out with new phones by combining different features in a phone to see how the combination turns out. They take some features away and add some others to see how that turns out as a handset. Such is the Sony Xperia Go; a mixture of some very good features and some basic features this phone is overall a good phone that has made its place in the market.
The Xperia Go is a good looking phone, covered in a nice smooth finish which gives it an overall shine. The dimensions of the phone are 111 x 60.3 x 9.8 mm, making it compact and light at a weight of 110 grams. Its dimensions go perfectly with its 3.5 inch screen, which is a standard size but earns plenty of points in its added features. The display screen of the Xperia Go is a Led backlit LCD capacitive touch screen with multi touch, scratch resistant glass, Sony Mobile BRAVIA Engine and IP67 certified dust and water proof for up to 30 minutes. All this combined with a resolution of 320 x 480 pixels makes the display screen a beauty.
Being an Android phone, it takes the Xperia Go ahead in the technology race, but having the Gingerbread v2.3 brings it far behind again. However its NovaThor U8500 chipset and Dual-core 1 GHz Cortex-A9 CPU does the phone justice and keeps it from being slow. For this reason, it can be said that the performance of the phone is pretty good.
The phones internal memory is 8GB large, with a 512 MB Ram as well as a microSD card slot. It supports 2G and 3G networks and has GPRS, EDGE, WLAN, Bluetooth and microUSB port that allows PC synchronization. These features keep the Xperia Go connected to the rest of the world through internet access.
The phone does pretty fine in the multimedia area. This is due to the fact that the camera is just a standard quality of 5 mega pixel, with no secondary camera; however it does come with great features like geo tagging, auto focus, touch focus, LED flash, face and smile detection and 3D sweep panorama. These features lift the image of the phones camera. The audio quality of the Xperia Go is pretty good also, like most Xperia phones. And it comes three colors: white, black and yellow.
The Xperia Go is a good example of a phone which does pretty okay for itself with a variety of features, some very good, some just fine, and some lacking behind. However, that does not mean that the phone isn’t a good phone. The Sony Xperia go would still be counted as one of the good Sony phones in the market.
